Martin Luther King Jr. – Color Blind

Martin Luther King Jr. called for a color blind society and we have made some great progress towards that. But not enough.

We must be color blind and religion blind in our international dealings as well. We would never tolerate drone bombings in Australia or Germany and collateral damage killing children.

We tolerate it in Pakistan, Yemen and Afghanistan because of an attitude that an innocent child there has a life with less value than an innocent child in the first world.

We tolerate it because of the belief that kids and families who are unfortunate enough to live near suspected terrorists in these places are worthy of death but we would never, ever, make the same argument about kids and families who lived near suspected terrorists in our own country or those countries rich and white.

Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream and we can do better.
