Twitter is not the end all be all of human existence, in fact its a little bit stupid:

1) Twitter cant keep their servers up for more than 20 hours at a time –  what, a zillion dollar in VC money not enough?  gimme a break –  the site is down more than pets.com

2) there is NO quality control —  a dummy account with no user will attract hundreds of followers-  why?  because they want to be followed also —  being “followed” has no value if the followers don’t care what you have to say, which bring me to the next point

3) no one cares what you had for lunch – 99% of twitter is narcissistic nonsense – less than 1% is actually useful

4)  no, you CAN’T make millions from Twitter – sure, throw a billion monkeys out there someone will get lucky but if all the millions of users spent their tens of millions of hours selling widgets in Times Square then a few would make a buck also —    whats that you say?  ‘Dell made millions”  please.  first the Dell announcement was simply good PR, second Dell sells BILLIONS of dollars – they make more from their website in an hour than a decade on twitter

5) ask any hard core Twitter fan/ user what value they actually got from Twitter –  nothing — its a tool for them to shout their ideas –  they never read anyone’s ideas – just their own –  the service adds very little value to the users —  I mean who really says that they cant be without their Twitter

6)  the best features of Twitter are not on Twitter —  Tweedeck etc.–  Twitter’s own interface is seriously lacking –  you cant even search easily, all the Twitter spin off sites auto convert urls to TinyURLs but Twitter itself cant-  bizarre –  again –  what are they doing with the zillions in VC dollars?  Not a single programming change in a year

7)  Twitter accounts have been hacked numerous times – even their own internal documents were recently hacked

8) trend collapsing under its own weight –  think MySpace only much worse
