Another Gang Rape in India: Time for more Civil Rights?

And this week was yet another horrific gang rape in India, this time by police (again).

Why does India have so many rapes?

Let’s examine history.

In 1858 Great Britain placed the British Raj in control of India.

All Indian people were second class citizens in their own country and treated like slaves. Slaves cannot defend themselves and are conditioned to be victims.

The imperialists passed a law that said that Indians were unable to own firearms but Colonials could.

Gandhi himself saw the injustice in this and said:
“Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the Act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest.”

Today, like so many people in other countries (even some in the US) there are Indian citizens, so conditioned by years of propaganda that they actually believe that only the State should have a monopoly on force.

Self defense laws in India are non existent with even mace being illegal.

What do we get when we have State monopoly on force combined with lack of respect of citizens and lack of ability to defend oneself?

A violent society. A violent society who disrespects women and men, who preys on the weak, who uses mob rule for violence and who shrugs in bewilderment asking “why”….while strengthening the State and feeding it more power.

No woman should risk what happened to these victims without the option to defend herself.

We can’t undo over a century of propaganda and statism but six bullets to the heads of scum like this from the next woman who would have been a victim sure would be a good start.

If that sounds harsh, cruel or barbaric I would point out that the current situation is what is barbaric. Civilized societies do not treat people as slaves, they allow respect and encourage self defense. This is not violence it is defense, deterrent and non-aggression.

It is actually the denial of self defense and encouraging of the monopoly on force by the State is violent. Be peaceful. Support defense rights.
