I dont mean to upset people when I point out that programs like Obamacare are violent. Like all well meaning government programs it is ultimately backed by force, threats and violence.

Now if someone acknowledges that violence, accepts it is real and says its still worth it, making a case for some ‘greater good’ then we can ‘agree to disagree’ and move on.

But if someone denies that violence even exists and claims these types of things are peaceful ….then they are not being honest with themselves.

The questions of who we as humans should beat, handcuff, cage, kill and seize property from are fundamental ones. In order to answer them we must first be honest and acknowledge they exist. There are perfectly good reasons to cage and kill humans….but we can only discuss where those lines should be drawn when we admit that the State is violent.

In pointing out the inherent violence of the State I am not trying to change minds….but to get people to see the gun in the room and ideally, change their own mind….or at least more carefully consider this violence before they utter the phrase which has caused so much ruin: ‘there oughta be a law’.
