Photo taken in the desert near an oasis the size of a small lake, the moonlight reflected on the water and the car headlights lit up the ground when I got out of the car.

Later that night, looking at the stars, a local told me that one formation was known as the “large ladle” or something along those lines in Arabic…the same constellation known as the “big dipper” in English.

It made me think that hundreds of years ago, people separated by distance, culture, language and with none of today’s technology would gaze at the same constellation from opposite sides of our globe, calling it the same name, likely for the same purpose of traveling to loved ones or conducting trade.

We are so alike in this world and share so much in common. Regardless of faith or location we all want a better life for our family and those around us and our world.
