Left Wing “Anti-Hate” Group Transforms Itself into Hate Group

The Southern Poverty Law Center has reclassified over 1000 groups as “extremists” – some of which have been in existence for half a century or more. Included on the list of “extremists” are Media Matters, The John Birch Society which was founded in 1958, Oathkeepers, an organization made up of police and active duty military who promise to uphold their oath of service, and hundreds of others. SPLC is working hard to push their anti-freedom agenda and paint anyone who disagrees with them politically as a danger to society, apparently one step from hijacking planes or driving suicide bombs into government buildings.
SPLC has heavily publicized the “explosion” of these “extremist” groups, when in reality most of the groups have existed for many years. Its simply the methodology and anti-2nd Amendment opinions of the Center which have changed the categorization. Essentially, the tragic actions of one crazed 20 year old in Connecticut caused a knee-jerk reaction in politics and groups like the SPLC seeking to not only change 200 years of rights but portray anyone who wishes to preserve those rights as a dangerous extremist. Clearly the motivations of SPLC were not to protect the public from a legitimate fear of domestic terror but a motivation driven by a hatred for those who are supporters of the 2nd amendment.
SPLC has written a letter to none other than Attorney General Holder and Homeland Security Czar Janet Napolitano warning of these groups and the the danger of “domestic terrorism”. This, in turn has been picked up by media outlets such as the LA Times who describes the danger, warning of “white, right wing Americans” who are “usually heavily armed, blinded by an intractable hatred, often motivated by religious zeal”. Is it really so far a stretch that these groups will be officially named as terrorist organizations based solely on political belief rather than actual danger? We already have many groups listed as domestic terrorists: racist groups etc. the problem with this is that, while these groups may (or in some cased may not) be criminal and violent in nature, the label “terrorist” justifies a far reaching and extreme enforcement actions without regard to due process.
The extreme reaction to 9-11, the act of 19 people, brought us unprecedented limitations on freedom such as the Patriot Act. The combination of an ever-expanding definition of terrorism and an ever-expanding police state and enforcement mechanism does not combine well with the intolerant and closed mindedness of left wing groups like SPLC who seek to label those who disagree with them as hate criminals and domestic terrorists. Unfortunately, most people will read the headline “right wing white guys present a danger to America” and move on without a thoughtful analysis of the motivations and consequences of the reckless, politically-motivated actions of SPLC.
This is how freedom is destroyed. Piece by piece, brick by brick. But Americans are smarter than SPLC may give them credit for. Citizens are waking up and are tired of the abuses. The most meek and mild mannered person becomes a lion when threatened.
No SPLC, your fantasies about heavily armed republican white guys donning suicide bomb vests are unfounded. But make no mistake, if you continue to push Americans, if your friends Holder, Napolitano, Feinstein, Bloomberg and their ilk continue to take freedoms….make no mistake that Americans of all type: black, white Hispanic, women, libertarians, veterans, hippies, republicans, democrats and greens will stand up and say “No more”. Freedom is worth defending and it is worth dying for.
We mean no aggression but we will not be tread on.
In the words written on the stone at Lexington:
“Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have war, let it begin here.”
